Dead West combines two great slices of American comic book culture: westerns and zombies. The plot of the book centers around an Indian returning to the place where lived as a child, that village wiped out to make way for a new settlement. The man’s return is no accident, he returns to the site of his former home to put a curse on the town of Lazarus that allows the dead to rise and start snacking on the local residents. In comes the ‘hero’ of the story though that term is applied quite loosely. A bounty hunter comes to Lazarus searching for a fugitive and happens to get caught in the middle of the zombie attack.
