Brandon Watts, was wandering the back streets of a city when he and his gang come upon a dark book of enchantment. Brandon mishandles the book and inadvertently unleashes Anvil, Lucifer’s agent on earth. One by one, Brandon’s friends are killed in horrible ways—and Brandon becomes a conduit for their death-throes. But as he experiences each death, Brandon himself is changing, into something more than human. Driven by pain, fear and desperation, he kills himself, only to be reborn as a kind of morbid angel, trapped in Exile, one of the gateways to Hell itself. There, he confronts Anvil, only to be crucified, an act that gives Anvil even more power on earth. He leaves Brandon to eternal suffering, but the Morbid Angel is not so easily defeated, and he will find a way to send Anvil back to Hell—and perhaps recover his own soul in the process.
