Metzger is a weapons practitioner, an elite force dispatched to handle serious crime in a future Britain ruled by "The Country". Metzger is also a practical man and when an android calling himself Morgan Nadir is thrust upon him to help remove suspect violent squatters from a new banking complex, his first impressions are that the man-machine needs to be send back to the laboratory, for he insists telling Metzger that supernatural forces are at work.
