Dark Shadows was a TV show that ran from the mid-sixties to early seventies that was a combination of gothic horror and an afternoon soap opera. After the first six months of low ratings, the show was facing cancellation until the arrival of Barnabas Collins a vampire. Played by actor Jonathan Frid, Barnabas is awakened after two centuries of sleep and now haunts the inhabitants of Collinwood.
