In this sequel, Batman faces a rogue Predator, its alien pursuers, and several human assassins who’ve been set on him by a drug lord. Fortunately, this time he has the help of the Huntress, despite not wanting it. Doug Moench and Paul Gulacy have always worked well together, and Moench’s understanding of the Batman’s character is what makes this more than just another novelty crossover. While the Batman has never been at his best in such overtly science-fiction storylines, both Gibbons and Moench, in their different ways, emphasize that it is the Batman’s human abilities that make him a hero. Moench, in particular, creates a series full of characters rather than stereotypes, including the main Predator.
