Unless you have been living
under a rock, you have heard of Time Seeley's Hack/Slash. If you have
been living under a rock, now is your time to crawl out and see what all
the fuss is about.
We spoke with creator, Tim Seeley, about Hack/Slash Entry Wound.
Big Bad Wolf: Can you give us a synopsis of Hack/Slash Entry Wound?
ENTRY WOUND is a new reader friendly "jump-on" issue, that I'm writing and drawing for release in May! It comes in between issues 23 and 24, but the story is new and doesn't tie specifically to events in the previous issue.
The Big Bad Wolf: What makes this book such a great jump-on point for new readers?
Tim Seeley: Basically I wanted to distill the concept down so that people who were curious about the book, or had heard good things could try it out without jumping into the middle of a storyline. So, it's a short, reasonably priced issue, with 14 pages of new story, a bunch of new pin ups by me and guest artists, and a back-up Lovebunny and Mr. Hell strip!
The Big Bad Wolf: What can we expect from this issue in terms of blood and gore?
Since this is a primer for Hack/Slash, you better believe I'm doing my best to give readers a proper summary of what makes Hack/Slash a great comic!
The Big Bad Wolf: Who are the villains that we will see in this series? It mentions every holiday slasher, can you give us some information on these guys?
Basically, when we catch up with Cas and Vlad in this story, they're exhausted...they've been running around trying to contain these slashers, some of whom we've seen in the book before, and some which are new. So, right when they're about to pass out dead, they have to travel to Pennsylvania to take on The Groundhog's Day Killer...whom is scarier than he sounds. ;)
The Big Bad Wolf: What other horror type characters will make a guest appearance in this issue?
Tim Seeley: There's a big crossover going on elsewhere, so we're gonna get little cameos by some of my favorite indy comic characters...PROOF, the characters from the NBM comic, BONEYARD, MERCY SPARX...All kinds of fun characters.
The Big Bad Wolf: Who is the rest of the
creative team on this issue?
Colors by Rachelle Rosenberg, and letters, as always, by the amazing CRANK!
The Big Bad Wolf: Where can our readers
find out more about the Hack/Slash Entry Wound?
Go to your local comic store, and ask them to order it for you. They can just pull out the Previews catalogue and make sure you get one!
The Big Bad Wolf: In closing, what would
you like to say to our readers about Hack/Slash Entry Wound?
If you've been curious about Hack/Slash, if you're a slasher fan but you
don't read a lot of comics, if you've read H/S but stopped, I hope you'll
pick up a copy. If you have a firend who fits into any of those categories,
buy them a copy as a gift! I promise it'll be a blast, and allow you to
start reading Hack/Slash every month, for a nice regualr dose of humor,
horror and skin.
The Big Bad Wolf: Thank you for your time,
Tim! Best of luck with Hack/Slash Entry Wound.
