Michael Brewer talks BLOODBAT

Michael's life will soon be forever changed by a family curse. Once again, the creature known as The Bloodbat will make his presence known to man.

We spoke with creator, Michael Brewer, about Bloodbat.

The Big Bad Wolf: Can you give our readers a synopsis of Bloodbat?

Bloodbat comicMichael Brewer: Certainly. Bloodbat is the story of a teenage boy who was pretty much an outcast to begin with. He has massive amounts of paranormal experiences long before becoming the Bloodbat. He is told by his father that he is the heir to a family curse which dates back to the time when Cain killed his brother able. The bible never gives a description of the mark put on Cainís forehead so I was able to play off of that with the character. He is cursed to become the bloodbat which at first he sees it to be a great asset but eventually will come to realize what the curse is all about. He finds himself in all sorts of situations of biblical proportions, having to do battle with everything from ancient gods to vampires as you will all see in the months to come.

The Big Bad Wolf: Who are the main characters?

Michael Brewer: Michael and his father are the main characters for the first few issues. Then there will be other characters and deities that will come into play.

The Big Bad Wolf: Was the main character born a vampire or was he turned?

Michael Brewer: The Bloodbat is not by any means a vampire, even though he is directly descended form the bloodline of the Dracul himself.

The Big Bad Wolf: How did you come up with the idea for this book?

Michael Brewer: Oddly enough it was a dream. I had a nightmare one night and he was born the next morning. The main character being based around me has everything to do with my own life, being played out in comic form. In the nightmare I was running from these demons after having been told by my father that I possessed an ancient power of some sort and once I was tired of running and being scared I turned on the demons and became the bloodbat.

The Big Bad Wolf: What can we expect from this book in terms of blood and gore?

Michael Brewer: The bloodbat issue one is a very mild version of what is to come. I plan to make every issue better than the last and I can tell you that the next four issues, which I have already written are very bloody. However they do somewhat pull on the heart strings a bit.

The Big Bad Wolf: Is this an ongoing, or mini series?

Michael Brewer: Well for now it will be an ongoing series, depending on how the readers take to it. I hope they all like it. I can say that included in the first issue of Bloodbat is a pinup of the cover of a superhero comic that I am also working on called (Project X-Formula) and in that book the Bloodbat is a major character as well. (Bet ya never thought anyone would have the brass to do that)

The Big Bad Wolf: When is the release date?

Michael Brewer: Sooner than you think. As I am finishing up the lettering on it as we speak. I am releasing it in two different versions one in Black and White the other in color as I realize that there are several fans of both, and I like to try and reach as many as possible.

The Big Bad Wolf: How much is the book?

Michael Brewer: $3.00

The Big Bad Wolf: Who is the rest of the creative team on the book? Bloodbat comic

Michael Brewer: I am the Creator, writer, penciled, inker and colorist and letterer, John Kotsis and the fans I already have are contributing just as much as I am though, for they inspire and motivate me.

The Big Bad Wolf: Where can our readers find out more about Bloodbat?

Michael Brewer: UMMM! Face book Keyword DreamDweller, Myspace, Bloodbat or Dreamdweller, Enemi

The Big Bad Wolf: In closing, what would you like to say to our readers about Bloodbat?

Michael Brewer: I would like most of all to say that I have very big plans not only for the Bloodbat but for all of my characters. I donít want to disclose any details as of yet about the bigger majority of them but I can tell you with out remorse that if you miss a single issue of any of my books then you may miss a vital piece of info into the past , present or future of some of Enemiís most important characters. I will close in saying that no other writer, artist or publisher has ever brought so many different types of comic stories into play as I have planned. There stories will play out so perfectly that you wont even realize what has happened until you are addicted

The Big Bad Wolf: Thank you for your time, Michael! Best of luck with this title.
