| A zombie outbreak is occurring,
and no amount of prayers will save a Catholic High School from what is
about to happen.
We talked to Toney Tapia, of Jam Packed
Productions about The Zombie Project.
TheBigBadWolf: Tell our
readers what The Zombie Project is about.
Toney
Tapia: Everyone knows your basic storyline of a zombie
story. Zombie outbreak happens, the zombies go about devouring up mankind,
zombies get blown up by the army. Well, this has all that and more. I
am aiming to go back to your classic zombie tale. Yes, you'll get the
gore, but there will be a story in the middle of that. So, to start things
off, my story begins at St. Petersburg Catholic High School for Boys.
All hell breaks loose when the zombie outbreak occurs during school hours,
attacking the faculty and children attending the school. What happens
when a group of classmates team up together to try to escape this horror?
Well, I guess you'll find this summer when the madness begins.
TheBigBadWolf: Do we know how the zombie
outbreak occurs?
Toney Tapia:
In this first series we give very little mention of how the outbreak occurs.
I didn't want to go that route as of yet. What I want to do is show the
macabre of what is a zombie in this first series. But don't worry, this
isn't a "LOST" episode where no one ever gets any answers, the
reader will see how and why this happens in issues to come.
TheBigBadWolf: Who are the main characters?
Toney Tapia:
In my writing style, I try not to pinpoint on a main character. I spread
out that spot to many. I have a few characters I'm playing around with
in this story. Mainly, there is a group of teen agers, a priest and nun,
LOL, doesn't that sound like the beginning of a bad joke, LOL.
TheBigBadWolf: Are these
zombies the slow lumbering zombies, or are they runners?
Toney Tapia:
I was always a fan of the Romero's slow moving zombies. I mean really,
if you're caught in the middle of them, there really is no where to run.
They always catch up to you some how. The runners in newer movies like
the remake of "Dawn of the Dead", to tell you the truth, are
also scary as fuck. I mean OK, here we have zombies running at full speed
after you, shit, I'll drop a load in my pants, LOL. So to answer your
question, we will be using both types in T.Z.P.
TheBigBadWolf: Is this an ongoing, or mini series?
Toney Tapia:
The Zombie Project: "Zombie High" is the first mini series of
many stories from the world of The Zombie Project. The first series will
be four issues. After the first series is over, we will begin on the second
series which is already written. Since you guys ROCK, here's is the title
of the second series,
"The Zombie Project: "C.H.O.P."
All I gotta say is, "IT'LL BE INSANE!"
TheBigBadWolf: Who’s
the creative team on the book?
Toney Tapia:
Well, I'll start off with myself, Toney Tapia. I am the writer of this
gruesome tale of classic zombie horror and Matthew Petz pencils them crazy
zombies for us during this ride into terror.
TheBigBadWolf: When is
the release date?
Toney Tapia:
We are looking to release issue #1 in June, just in time for good ole'
summer school to begin.
TheBigBadWolf: How much
is the book?
Toney Tapia:
The price of each issue will be $2.99. Anything higher, I believe in the
comic book world, is ridiculous. I want comic book and horror fans to
jump into the madness with J.P.P. for a good and respectable price.
TheBigBadWolf: Thanks
for taking the time Toney. Good luck with the zombie comic book. Fans
