These zombies just wonít die. Here is the first ever popular collection of zombie comics and short graphic stories. Full of spooky and well-crafted tales from beyond the grave, this collection will appeal to readers of graphic novels, comic books, and followers of the undead. With stories from Vincent Locke, Steve Niles, Hideshi Hino, Joe Lansdale, and many others, this collection will be sure to frighten and entertain even the most undead of readers.
We spoke with editor, David Kendall, about putting this book together.
The Big Bad Wolf: Growing up, were you a fan of zombie and horror comics?
Oh, yes! I've always had a big interest in the supernatural in all formats. Growing up. Marvel's Tales of the Zombie, and Man-Thing were my favourites.
The Big Bad Wolf: What made you want to put this book together?
I'd just done the Mammoth Book of Best War Stories and said how much I'd enjoyed the Mammoth Book of Zombie stories published over a decade ago when horror in the UK was still big. Constable asked me whether I'd like a shot at putting a comics version together. It was a chance to immerse myself in the huge wealth of material out there and think about not just what I liked in a zombie tale but what might appeal to other readers too.

The Big Bad Wolf: How did you select which story makes it into the book?
David Kendall: That I liked it, that I could get permission for it, that the budget could afford the reprint fees.
The Big Bad Wolf: What about the other stories that didnít make the cut? Do you have plans to release a sequel to this?
David Kendall: The ones that didnít make it? Well I'd dearly like to see them in an anthology but there are no plans for a sequel. Stories normally didn't make it because of problems getting permission, thatís the biggest hassle.
The Big Bad Wolf: Do you have any plans on releasing any other horror material similar to this? (i.e.: The Mammoth Book of Werewolf comics or The Mammoth Book of vampire comics)?
David Kendall: Well there already is the Mammoth Book of Horror Comics so I'm not sure there's big enough market for reprint vampire/werewolf comics. A general Monster Comics one would be fun though.
The Big Bad Wolf: How many pages is this book?
David Kendall: Should be 460.
The Big Bad Wolf: Is it in color or black and white?
Black and white.
The Big Bad Wolf: When is the release date?
October this year.
The Big Bad Wolf: How much is the book?
The Big Bad Wolf: Where can our readers find out more about The Mammoth Book of Zombie Comics?
www.constablerobinson.com but I imagine your readers will also pick up a lot of comments and info from horror sites once the book is published.
The Big Bad Wolf: In closing, what would you like to say to our readers about The Mammoth Book of Zombie Comics?
Read it, and post your comments on the bulletin boards I'd be interested in what you think!
The Big Bad Wolf: Thank you for your time David. Best of luck with The Mammoth Book of Zombie Comics.
