Rick was a police officer in a small Kentucky town. Him and his partner were in a shoot out with an escaped convict. Grimes got injured in the battle, and goes into a coma. He awakes from a coma, ignorant of the past few weeks’ events, knowing only that his world has turned upside-down in, what seemed to him, a space between breaths. He is now in a world where the bulk of humanity has been transformed into flesh-eating zombies.
Rick manages to meet up with his wife and son who are with a group of survivors and together they are doing the best they can to survive from the zombies.
