When a radioactive ray test destructs, the dust from the experiment make their way to the garden of millionaire Lucius Farnsworth. It causes a small weed to grow and gain sentience. It tells Farnsworth of its ability to control minds and its plans to take over the world. However, it needs rest and, to keep Farnsworth from taking action against it, puts him to sleep as well. During its slumber, Farnsworth's garnder unknowingly kills The Weed by snipping it, thus breaking its spell over the millionaire and unwittingly saving mankind.
