With Swamp thing gone for a while the need arose for another plant elemental. The elemental life force was searching for a body to host. When Swamp Thing returned he wanted to have a child with Abby, so the elemental life force could inhabit -- his child. There was a catch to all of this, the problem with vegetation pollination mixing with human DNA. Swamp Thing called upon Constantine (Hellblazer). Swamp Thing would swap soul essence with Constantine for the night to use of his body to father a child. Swamp Thing made love to Abby, using Constantine's body, creating a child that had both the elemental life force and demon blood, from Constantine.
After birth, Tefe began to develop powers, over flesh, not vegitation becoming a flesh elemental. Her powers were too strong and could accidently kill off humanity; she went off to study with the Parliament of Trees until she could have control over her powers.
