Coming Soon - Hellboy Jr. TPB

Posted on Tuesday, January 20 @ 10:11:56 PST by TheBigBadWolf

We could possibly see this in the next few days.

Finally, the most bizarre Hellboy spinoff is collected in one volume, after four years out of print. Ren and Stimpy artist and Big Blown Baby creator Bill Wray joins with Mignola and a great lineup of humor cartoonists to reimagine a young, diaper-clad Hellboy and a host of other twisted children’s characters. Includes the outrageous Mignola-drawn tale Squid of Man and many others.

Niles and Templesmith return to Barrow in March

Posted on Tuesday, January 20 @ 09:50:29 PST by TheBigBadWolf

It’s time to suck again, as Steve Niles and Ben Templesmith show that horror is still their respective middle names. The duo return to the property that made ‘em household names in March when they Return to Barrow to wrap things up in the vampire-ridden town.
Inspired by his lifelong love of horror movies, stories, comics, art and in a way, a nod to the greats like Night of the Living Dead and I am Legend (which Niles adapted from Richard Matheson’s original work), 30 Days tells the horrific tale of Sheriff Eben Olemaun, his wife Stella and the folks in the Alaskan town of Barrow (or what’s left of the inhabitants) encounter with hoards of vampires. In the eyes of the vampires, Barrow’s perpetual darkness at the winter solstice looks like happy hour at Golden Corral. The good sheriff, his wife, and a handful of brave souls fought the vampires off, but not without greta sacrifice.

Man-Thing Movie Update

Posted on Tuesday, January 20 @ 08:31:36 PST by TheBigBadWolf

Marvel Studios' Ari Arad told The Continuum that the lead character in the upcoming Man-Thing movie will be a combination of prosthetics and computer-generated effects.
"From the outset, Man-Thing was intended to be a prosthetic, CG-enhanced creature," Arad told The Continuum during a visit to Marvel Studios last week. "So there was a great deal of R&D.
"There's positional stuff happening on location, on the set, but at the same time the stuff you don't currently see in camera was always engineered to be enhanced by digital effects. So when you see the movie, hopefully the line is pretty blurry. It's not an all-CG creature."
Arad said that Man-Thing is a bit more of a depature from the original comic than Marvel's other films.
"It's a horror movie," he said. "It's a different telling of the Man-Thing. He's more menacing."

Jessica Biel talks Blade 3

Posted on Monday, January 19 @ 11:03:47 PST by TheBigBadWolf

"I play Kris Kristofferson's daughter. She's a master marksman with a crossbow and she knows all kinds of martial arts. She's kicking vampire butt for the whole movie," says Biel.
That meant the actress went into extensive training for three months before she even turned up on the Vancouver set last year for Trinity.
"Ryan Reynolds, Natasha Lyonne and I play this group of young people who are secretly helping Blade (Wesley Snipes). We eventually end up rescuing him."
She was determined to do as many of her own stunts as possible and to look as if she was capable of them.
"If I was going to play a female action star I wanted to look like one and perform like one.
"My character couldn't just be skin and bones so I bulked up. I want people to believe I could lift a guy up and kick him around a room. It will be a whole new look for me."
