“The Anchor’s battle with the offspring of the demonic Breeder comes to an earth shattering conclusion, but will victory require a sacrifice The Anchor is not prepared to make? You are with this comic or against it, and being against it is not good for your health, chief. A new BOOM! ongoing series, brought to you by Eisner Award-nominated writer/artist Phil Hester and fan-favorite artist Brian Churilla.

Artwork: 4.0 out of 5
Another fine issue that is pleasing to the eyes here. Churilla’s artwork does not let down for a second from panel to panel. I like the more simplistic look to this book. It works for one, but it also allows for the colors to give it some attitude as well. Speaking of the colors there is just something nice about the more flat look of this issue. I don’t know what it is but I like each and every page. Great work.

Story: 4.0 out of 5

I like this story a lot so far. It’s different. Sure you got the big guy who kicks some ass, but there more depth to it than that. I love the idea of Clem fighting on the two fronts, and how in this issue they had to use other ideas to win. The dialogue is solid and moves the story along with a great pace, even through all the action scenes.

Dying Breath: 4.0 out of 5
While I don’t know if picking up only issue #4 will make this book accessible to new comers, those who have been on board from the start (yes it’s only 4 issues) are sure to enjoy this one. This series is great so far, full of action and ass kicking. So what more do you want. Go buy issue #4, grab the other 3 issues if you don’t have them and become a fan of The Anchor now.

If you would like to buy The Anchor you can grab it at your local comic shop. For more on Boom Studios please check out http://www.boom-studios.com/
