Artwork: 3.5 out of 5
Welcome to part 2 of the Freakshow series by Digital Webbing. I know I
am a few years behind on this one. So if you can find a copy of it
great! So to me the cover is the strong point when it comes to the art
on this issue. That’s not to say that what follows inside is bad, just
in my opinion not on the same level. I think that out of the four
stories my favorite looking one was “Flu Bug”. It had that vibe of what I
recalled reading as a kid. The others stories work well, they just
didn’t really appeal to my tastes. I will say I did like the color work
on “Drones” too.
Story: 3.5 out of 5
So the 4 stories are pretty good in this one. I found “Flu Bug” to be a
fun take on having the flu, but in relation to the rest I found it to be
weaker on the horror scale. All the others I really liked, sending
another special mention to “Drones”. So yeah the stories are short and
fun, I mean how deep can they really get?
Dying Breath: 3.5 out of 5
Now I want to start out with an apology to Chris Kirby, I got this book
from you at C2E2 with the intention of reviewing it sooner and I am
sorry I waited. Now that aside, I liked it. I think the art was a good
mix of styles, I can’t stop looking at the cover. The stories were fun
and all finished nicely due to size constraints. So if this a good one
to pick up? Yes. Is it something to blow you away? No. Take it, have fun
with it and by all means enjoy it people, it’s horror related!!!
