“A zombie epic that pays homage to 1970s exploitation films and
disaster movies like Airport and Towering Inferno. In an entertaining
and darkly over-the-top celebration of gore and sex, The Last Resort
transforms a Caribbean paradise into a biological wasteland populated
with homicidal flesh-eating vacationers!“
Artwork: 3.8 out of 5
The interior artwork on this series has it’s moments if you ask me. I
can find myself loving one panel then hating the next. Luckily I liked
a lot more than I didn’t like. The covers are what I love the most,
especially the Darwyn Cooke one. Yummy! Overall I like the look of
whats going on and I think it fits good with the genre.
Story: 4.0 out of 5
This is a first issue I can read over and over. It has all the strong
points I look for. A nice intro that’s not too heavy, some good action
scenes and a cliffhanger ending. A great job on going from point A to
point B. You get a small but good understanding of the main cast and
how they get to the island they will probably all die on. I love it!
Dying Breath: 4.0 out of 5
I love what is going on here. I am starting to notice series paying
more attention to first issues, whether it be through the art that gets
you to grab it off the shelf or the nice plot development inside.
Zombies and tourists are a great combo and I am just ready to expand on
some more carnage after this great ending.
