Hey, everyone!
My name is Ash Jackson. I’m the Artist/colorist of EVE: Vampire Diva.
For those of you who don’t know, Eve is a celebrity by day, dealing with
slimy agents, paparazzi and everything else super star divas (even the
washed up ones, like her) have to, and a vampire by night battling
werewolves, witches, vampires and other supernatural threats to mankind.
So, needless to say, there is a huge variety of stuff I get to
draw/color on this book.
So, I’ll try to show a little bit of everything that went into making
this book .
Here it goes!

Here are some very early concepts of Eve, Herbie, Danielle, and the
thugs from issue 1
Next up we have concepts for Girdron (Girdy) Sylvania, Myra and Michael.
Girdy ended up looking a little different from all those original
concepts. He turned into rounder, more friendly looking old man.

Then we have some werewolf designs. I ended up going with a hulking,
buff looking type of werewolf for these stories. They are a lot of fun
to draw. (Though we may see some thin, lanky ones in the series, down
the road)

Here we see some early page layouts for issue one, concepts for
Sylvania’s outfit and two different cover deigns for issue 2

The last concept picture I have to show! Not to give anything away,
let’s just call him BATMAN!...Oh, wait. On second thought, let’s just
call him MAN-BAT... Oh wait, can't do that either, ;P You'll have to
read the comic to see what he's called and which design we ended up
using.

Now I’ll try to breakdown the making of a page (I like this page.
Drawing Girdy’s apartment is always a blast, because I get to fill it
with random nicknacks and brick-a-brack.)
I use a lot of layers on my pages, but basically their are 4 major steps
We start off with the finished pencils/linework . Once that's done, I
move on to colors.
After that, I turn off the color layer, and add a 3rd layer for the big
shadows/hues, this gives each scene an over all tint. For example, a
night scene would have a dark blue hue. Finally, It all gets put
together, and there you have it! A finished page!
The last thing I’d like to show are some preview panels of the upcoming
Eve: Vampire Diva origin (coming out later this year)

And that concludes a behind the scenes look at EVE: Vampire Diva hope it was somewhat interesting :)
Thanks so much to comicmonsters for the opportunity of showcasing my
work! For news and updates on EVE and other books I’m working on be sure
