Hey Everyone! We here at ComicMonsters.com have a new monthly column we want you ALL to participate in. Monster Making 101 brings you an original work by some of industry friends. Along with that is a guide as to how they produced the image. We welcome everyone and anyone to try and recreate the image. Kind of a fun "How to Draw Monsters" style online book if you will. So without further stalling here is this months piece, so make sure to get your version in and come back to see what we have next month.

Buz Hasson:
Monsters, basically are the best shit about anything. If you read a book, watch a movie, look at a comic, the fuckin' monster is the best part. Why? Cause its not real. Who wants real? Not me, I want surreal....super unreal.....monsters are anything you make them to be.
In this piece me and Ken made a monster. He's got all kinds of parts. Like Frankenstein, he's or even she's usually forged of some bastardized amalgamation creature from nature meets mankind maniacally imagined thing.
With this sketch we did for all of you, we took many attributes from some of our favorite characters of the arcane to make this beast. The short wording around the drawing is set up to show what we were thinking as we drew the particular pieces to the creature.

Most of the time we see monsters in literature or folklore and spin off of them by adding bits and parts of other monsters from different walks of evil. A horn here and a fang there and you got one hell of a rotten individual.
