Review by: Rob Caprilozzi

If this book looks familiar to you, then you are correct. The cover is a copy of an old Avon comic. Inside, the stories are reprint PRE-CODE material. The book isWitchcraft introduced with a splash page by Dan Brereton, of Nocturnals fame, which features Polychrome and Halloween Girl introducing the book, in EC Comics fashion.

The stories in the book are: The Death Tattoo, The Vampire Puppet, The Devil's Stones, Scream in the Night, The Vengeance Vat, The Vampire goes West, The Accursed, Ghost in the Gallows, The Ring of Horror, House to Let, The Hungry Lodger, The Nine Horrors, and The Little Children.

From the onset it is obvious that Olympian Publishing has put a lot of time into remastering this book. Olympian Publishing says that there will be more books to follow to help expose younger readers to the original horror comics from the 40's and 50's.

Another thing I like about this book is that it HONORS writers, artists and companies that put out pre code horror. A portion of the proceeds is being donated to the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund and ACTOR: A Commitment To Our Roots.

Fans of pre-code horror should jump on this fast. It is a great book to add to any collection.
