To start of this review, I’m going to be honest. Anything connected with the “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” name, I have high expectations for. This “about a Boy” edition chronicles young Thomas Hewitt as a boy and his road to becoming “Leathrface.”

Obviously, there is something not right with young Tommy, as well as the entire Hewitt clan. Here we get to see his young deformed face. After he is made fun of by some other kids, and called a “freak,” he’s set off. That’s when he take’s his first victim, which is guess who? Yup! The bully who called him a creep.

The torture scene in this book is exquisite. It’s true to TCM form. It’s gory and I think very well done. I like the artwork a lot in here. I understand this is a prequel, however, I found this to be a bit too predictable. Maybe because the “bully”storyline has been done so many times, in so many ways, it’s hard to see a fresh version of it. It’s also very short. But for TCM fans, it may be worth the quick read. Overall I would give it a 3 out of 5.
