SAVAGE is about one man's discovery of a terrifying
world lurking in the shadows outside your front door. When he is cursed
with the power to become a "bigfoot"-esque monster, he becomes
mankind's protector from evil monsters that seek to destroy it!
In issue #1 we see Sam, the old monster hunter, decapitate a Succubus.
This drawing of the Succubus' severed head was one of the first drawings
I did for SAVAGE.

My process is that I do cartoony thumbnail drawings of each page to plan
out the storytelling.

For this book, I went to town with a pen and brush with ink to get a
raw, edgy look.

Our hero discovers that a clan of werewolves have taken control of his
small Texas town. We wanted to create a hierarchy of werewolves, where
the lower class would be more wolf-like, and the higher class had the
power to be more of a hybrid of man and beast.

Here's the page were we discover who the werewolves are and how twisted
they can be!

Check out the color version and the next page!

Our heroes in the book have the ability to become a new kind of crypto-zooilogical
creature. Peter, our younger hero, becomes a sleek, 21st century version
of sasquatch, while his mentor becomes more of the traditional looking
bigfoot.
This is the first drawing I did of what I envisioned what Peter would
look like in his beast form:

Ultimately, he evolved into this creature, which I've defined on this
model sheet

This is a conceptual drawing I did of Sam's older beast:

Take a look at how he ended up looking in the book!
