Making of Jack the Lantern: War of the Soul
Here's a little preview of how we create and conjure up the magic that is Jack the Lantern: War of the soul.
Page layout from roughs to pencils to inks by Mark Kidwell
Here's a preview of how Mark Kidwell's been laying out the pages for "War of the soul". Working from my script that describes each panel sequence, Mark thumbnails the page first and then moves into the roughs before the final penciling stage. He'll send it to me for final approval before moving onto the inking, where I’ll do another check, and if it looks good, we bag it and tag it.
The work speaks for itself when I say Mark is kicking some serious ass on this book.

Mark pencils with Tony Bledsoe inking.
Mark added inking to his resume on JACK: WOTS after Jack the Lantern mainstay Tony Bledsoe had to take a leave of absence due to family commitments. Recently, Tony was able to return and contribute some work to "War of the soul". Mark and Tony are great inkers in their own right and having that kind of caliber is crucial when you're developing a black and white book.
Here's sequence that Tony just finished.
