Friday the 13th #1

Publisher: DC Comics
Writers: Justin Gray & Jimmy Palmiotti
Artists: Adam Archer & Peter Guzman

In this issue Jason Kills....No One?!? As bizarre as it sounds, we only see Jason Voorhees on two of the twenty two story pages and the maniacal killer surprisingly registers no kills.

A rich man, Mister Gaines, plans on opening up "Camp Blood" and turn it into a fortune. He thinks kids will beg their parents to let them go their so they can have exciting stories to tell their friends. He also whips out the"I Survived Camp Crystal Lake" tee shirts, that he think will be a must have for kids. Mister Gaines has hired a handful of horny teenagers to get the camp set up in the two weeks before its planned opening.

Towards the end of the book one of the teenagers, Sally, decides to go for a dip in the lake. Sally, who was on her high school swim team gets pulled under the water many children spirits and begins to drown. The other teens rescue her and attempt to revive her as the issue ends.

Justin Gray & Jimmy Palmiotti use issue one of Friday the 13th as a setup issue horrifying things to come. Even though the issue was slow and we only see Jason on two pages I expect the action and slashing to heat up.

Overall: 3 out of 5
