The second volume of Werewolf by Night was released
this past week. This volume covers Werewolf by Night 22-43, Giant Size
Werewolf 2-5, and Marvel Premiere 28. Doug Moench writes all of the issues
with the exception of Marvel Premiere 28, which is scribed by Bill Mantlo.
Don perlin does the art duties on the majority of the issues.
This essential features some very important events
in Werewolf by Night history. His first meeting with The Frankenstein
Monster is in Giant Sized Werewolf #2. His bloody battle with the evil
Hangman, is in Werewolf by Night #26. Werewolf by Night takes on Morbius
in Giant Size Werewolf #4. His crossover and first appearance of Moon
Knight takes place in Werewolf by Night #32 and #33. An uneasy alliance
with the Legion of Monsters (Ghost Rider, Man-Thing, and Morbius) happens
in Marvel Premiere #28. Brother Voodoo even gets his time with Jack, in
Werewolf by Night #39-#41. This essential features one of my personal
favorite Werewolf stories in Werewolf by Night #31. To me, that issue
shows the pure struggle that Jack Russell has to deal with on a daily
basis due to his curse of being a lycanthrope.
These classic stories of the 1970's are a must
for any monster fan. With a price tag of only $16.99, it features hundreds
of pages of good reading. Do yourself a favor and pick this book up!
