YELLOW: Things You Can Do Once MARVEL PREVIEWS Arrives
The fun begins once the formal solicitations for THE INCREDIBLE HULK #77 appear in MARVEL PREVIEWS (the
catalog containing all the comics Marvel is publishing, released about 3 months before the books within become available). Announcements will become available on this page when the proper MARVEL PREVIEWS is released (right now the first solicitations look to appear in #15, on sale October 27, 2004), complete with solicitation copy. (The catalog is available at your local comic shop for 99 cents U.S., or is free when you buy DIAMOND PREVIEWS, which contains all the comics shipping for all companies that month! Plus, the order form is only included there.) When the catalog arrives:

- Buy MARVEL PREVIEWS! (If you do not have a subscription account at your local comic shop, the order form in DIAMOND PREVIEWS will be the best way for you to let your retailer know how many copies you want!)
- Pre-order at least one copy of THE INCREDIBLE HULK #77 from your local comics retailer
and, if you’re in the position to do so, order more! (The series will likely run $2.25 or $2.99/copy.)
(What’s that, you say? Don’t want extra copies lying around? Check out what I’ve got to say in the ‘GREEN’ section!) And, if you are going to order multiples, it’s probably a good idea to use the PREVIEWS order form so your retailer doesn’t forget.
- If you’ve got a pull list at your comic shop, add the book so you won’t miss an issue!
- If your comics retailer isn’t already savvy with the idea of the return to HULK by PAD (shame on you for not telling them before!), tell him/her, strike up a discussion!
- If you ARE a comics retailer, take some risks, like absorbing the
cost of the first issue for some people who don’t usually read the HULK book, or buy a few extra copies for yourself and get ready for the day the new book arrives! Plan how you can lure customers in to buy the new
book--contests, promotional displays, etc. Remember how well HULK sold under PAD in years past? Don’t be stingy with your ordering--remember, this IS the only HULK series during early 2005!
- Don’t stop with the first issue (#77)! This is highly important! The solicitations for the next few issues of the series will surely arrive at your local comic shop before the first issue ships, so pre-order the rest of the issues of the series before then. (If you have a pull list at your store, this step will already be taken care of, unless you want more than one of each!)
- Let your deeds be counted here! When the time comes, I’ll post
a "copy counter" where you can enter the number of copies of each issue you’re buying, and maybe a message board where you can enter your comments to be read by Marveldom Assembled!
